49 Rapid Fire Ways To Blow Torch Body Fat

Hey everyone, Vic here and I’m in the mood for a rapid fire post today.  Maybe it’s because Coda if full of energy on this fine Spring day or maybe I’m just in one of those moods…

Anyway, here are 49 Rapid Fire Ways To Blow Torch Body Fat (catchy title, eh?):

1.  Move more.

2.  Eat less.

3.  Sleep more.

4.  Stress less.

5.  Go outside and play.

6.  Take a walk at lunch time.  Not so much because it will burn fat, but because it will help relieve some workday stress.

7.  Drink more water.

8.  Exercise as soon as you wake up.  Even if it’s only for a minute or two to supplement your main workout of the day.

9.  Go faster, lift heavier, or do just one more rep than you did yesterday.

10.  Be patient.  Just how long did it take you to gain your weight?  Oh, that long? Well then it might take more than a day or two to get back in shape.

11.  Eat broccoli.

12.  Eat spinach.

13.  Eat out less.  Or not at all.

14.  If it comes in a box or a wrapper – don’t eat it.

15.  Get support.  Our Facebook fan page (yes, OUR fan page – the users of the 31 Day Fat Loss Cure are very active on the page) is a great place to connect with people with similar goals.

16.  Just because breakfast is the most important meal of the day doesn’t mean that you have to eat a lot.  It just means to let your first meal set the tone for the rest of the day.  I usually eat half of a grapefruit and 6 almonds for breakfast.

17.  People will doubt you.  Prove them wrong.

18.  Focus on what you CAN do.  If you can’t do a full push up, start with your hands on a wall.  If you are injured or otherwise have a medical condition that prohibits any exercise, you can still control what you eat.  There is always something you can do.

19.  You do not NEED any sweeteners.

20.  You do not NEED any fitness equipment.

21.  Pre-plan, pre-cook, and pre-package your meals for the week.

22.  If you can talk on a cell phone, read a magazine, or watch television while you are training, then you are NOT training.

23.  When in doubt, eat vegetables.

24.  When in doubt, move.

25.  Enjoy the beautiful pain of muscle soreness when you walk down the stairs the day after your first time doing squats.

26.  Always return to the basics.  Push, pull, squat, jump.

27.  Get congruent.  You want abs.  But you eat cheese cake.  This is not congruent.

28.  Almost always, if the piece of equipment you are drooling over is endorsed by a celebrity – you shouldn’t buy it.  Do you really think the celebrity used it to get in shape?

29.  The Shakeweight is hilarious in its uselessness.

30.  If you want to run to lose weight – sprint.

31.  Leave stomach crunches in the ’80′s where they belong.

32.  Forget about juice.  Orange juice, V-8 juice, fresh squeezed, or concentrate…. forget about it.

33.  Play a sport.  Or dance.  Or take a martial arts class.  Do something active that you think is fun.

34.  Exercise intensity is important but it is also relative.  Do what challenges YOU and forget about trying to match up with someone else’s fitness feats.

35.  Weigh in once per week.  And only once per week.

36.  Most (but not all) body fat tests are ripe for inaccuracy.  Instead, use the way your clothes fit as a gauge.

37.  Having a workout partner can be great for motivation.  But it can also stagnate your progress.  Choose wisely.

38.  Hiring a good trainer for a few sessions specifically to teach you the basic barbell movements is a sound investment.

39.  Select music that makes you feel energetic and unstoppable when you train.

40.  Almost always, if you are not losing weight the answer is in your diet.

41.  Intermittent fasting is worth experimenting with.

42.  I’m not a fan of cheat days.  However, I begrudgingly admit that they can work for some people.

43.  If an exercise causes pain in your joints do not do the exercise.

44.  Apples make great snacks.  They are portable, require no packaging or refrigeration, and taste great.  Do you know anyone who doesn’t like apples?

45.  If I had to invest in one and only one piece of fitness equipment, I would buy a pull up bar.

46.  If you have bad knees and can’t squat or jump, consider learning some basic boxing techniques as an alternative workout.

47.  Love burpees. Even if you hate them.

48.  If you are trying to lose weight, you can get all of the protein you need from food.  Forget about protein powders and shakes.

49.  The only thing stopping you from losing weight is you.

Is that all you should eat is the two portions a day (1 whole grapefruit)?

My tip #50 would be: ditch your ‘fat’ clothes as soon as you can. I’ve lost 56 pounds so far, and still have about 42 to go. I treated myself to some smaller sized clothes as soon as I could afford it and didn’t need to go to outsize clothes shops any more. Not only did it make me feel better about myself, I got countless compliments which have spurred me on.
Now I’ve saved up to get a bicycle and cycle 3 miles to work each day – not that far, but last year before I started to lose weight I wouldn’t even have dared get on a bike for fear of being laughed off the road. I’m not good enough yet to tackle the final 1in5 hill, but knowing I will be one day keeps me going.

Number 50, if you got to cheat, add a workout!
Or weigh up the time it takes to eat the cheat with an equal time in squat jumps…..ouch!

I like your list of tips!!!

I know this is not an answer to your question but I thought you might be interested in reading it. My favorite indicator of how I think I am doing in my quest for 6-pack abs is when I run out of holes in my suit belt and I have to drill another one so my pants will be tight enough to wear!

    Bye 4 now!

#50 Could be when you get the results from your Dr. about your blood work, and you find out that your chloresteral went from 216 to 157 and your weight had gone from 255 to 232, and you had just finished your 31 Day Fat Loss Cure. Now that is the motivation you can sink your teeth into.

#51 Could be doing so well on this life change that you can get off of blood pressure medicine with the blessing of your Dr.

#52 Getting these motivational letters from Vic.

Thank you for all you do.

    LOVE the tips! Thank you.

I have a question for you. I don’t really have a sweet tooth so I like to crunch on carrots. As a treat I often make some home made hummous and dip my carrot sticks in. What is your opinion of home made hummous? Is it a goody or a baddie?

    Thanks.

    # 50 Eat fruit just before a meal (double portion at breakfast) or as a snack and only then (not during or after a meal). Fruit sets up digestive enzymes, esp. raw, organic pineapple. By doing this one thing you will relieve most G.I. symptoms such as bloating, gas, sour stomach, and acid reflux.
Got this idea from a homeopathic friend of mine. Several friends and I tried it for 1 week–what a difference it made for all of us. We are all over 60 years of age, when GI problems are usually at their worst. No more problems.

Two months into the program and I feel and look better than I did after a year at the Y. I just took a part-time job at a home improvement store and my first day the store had a sale on mulch and top soil. I spent most of my 8 hours loading vehicles. I turn 50 this year and kept up with the 20 something guy I worked with. I am so glad I’d been working the 31 Day Fat Loss Cure program. Without the program I’m sure I’d have been hurting. And I wasn’t even sore the following day. Thanks Vic!

This is not the first time I have heard about the fruit thing, Lynda, but while I get it, I just have a really hard time not having apple sauce with pork, cranberry sauce with fowl, pineapple with ham, etc. I think I will save your tip for when I am a bit more used to no grains, dairy or sugar!

You forgot the rewards, Vic. Tip #50 (well, I actually do not think it should be numbered 50 . . . that should be saved for something a bit more profound) could be rewarding oneself for stickin to the plan. Not food rewards, of course, but how about a nice new top when you can finally wear tights without the muffin top! Sorry guys . . . a new golf club when you have to get new t shirts cause all of yours are starting to hang like sacks? Great article, as usual, Vic!

#50 Visualize yourself at the weight you want to be. Spend a few minutes every morning before you get out of bed “feeling” what it is like when you are that weight. Mind over matter!

Don’t watch that 2 hour movie at 9pm !! Just go to bed. Sometimes I think the only reason I’m over-weight is because of the extreme munching watching that last TV show. JUST GO TO BED !!

#52 Build a vision board seeing yourself as you want to be.
    #53 Renew your goals weekly.
#54 Jump rope for 20 mins as a reward for meeting your goals.
#55 Plan a fun long bike ride on Saturday and a fun long hike on Sunday. It so fun to get out with friends and enjoy the outdoors.
#56 Treat yourself to a rock wall gym day instead of a movie.
#57 Meditate everyday morning and evening.

I want your dog! No seriously he really is a beauty. But back to the question…The last one, is the gold, well in my case and my opinion. To believe in our selves that we can accomplish all we want esp. when it comes to our bodies and lifestyle. Cause when you strip away all the crap that we are bombarded with, ultimately we have the power within us if only we can believe, and as I have stated before people like you Vic are really making a difference to peoples lives all over the world, keep up the excellent work my man…

I’ve been adhering to your diet recommendations and some exercise for 3 weeks. I dropped a quick 18 pounds and feel better than I have in years. I get most of your suggestions, particularly abstinence from dairy, wheat and alcohol. However, you’ve suggested no limits to daily fruit intake. Just curious why fresh squeezed juices (#32) are to be forgotten.

    Thanks,

  27. I think one of the better tips is to think about how strong and healthy you are getting and using your mind as well as your body as you workout , this produces I believe a quicker and more effortless regime change from unhealthy thinking to healthy thinking and choices .

My number 50 would be “Believe and Achieve”. My results have been noticed by many who are now wondering if they can do the program (I send them your link Vic). Anyway still staying the course and haven’t felt better. Thanks Vic and Coda.

I know you said to go out and play but I would add go out and work. The energy bill on your house is high when you regulate its temperature against the heat and cold outside. If you work outside all day your body expends a lot of energy to regulate your temperature. Don’t complain about being hot or cold. You can take it… and your body is getting a free workout.
